Living Grace Canine Ranch is offering temporary shelter and live-saving support to pets impacted by Hurricane Ida.
“When they do evacuation, often, the pets have nowhere to go, ” Rhonda Minardi, Founder & Executive Director of Living Grace Canine Ranch, told Hello Georgetown. “When they evacuate people, or some people have no place for their pets to go, or the shelters themselves need extra space, if they’re in the way of the hurricane, they need to get those pets out of there as well.”
In those situations, the pets need a place to stay too while they wait out the storm and the aftermath, and Living Grace Canine Ranch is at the ready to be one of those places if needed.
“Living Grace is just offering a safe place for them to come,” Minardi said. “We have people on standby, part of our volunteer base. They’re all ready to drive, they’re all ready to go get the pets. We have crates loaded in vehicles, in case we are called to duty for that.”
According to the organization, Living Grace has over 400 volunteers statewide and is well-positioned in both physical space and community support to help dogs and live-stock impacted by Hurricane Ida.
“We’re willing and ready and prepared to go help in any way we can,” Minardi told Hello Georgetown.
