Every February, we look to a groundhog in Pennsylvania to decide the fate of winter. This year, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, officially calling for six more weeks of winter.
But Texas, being Texas, had other plans.
Just outside Austin in Bee Cave, locals turned to their own forecasting legend: Bee Cave Bob, the armadillo. During Bee Caveโs Armadillo Day celebration, Bob did not see his shadow, which in Texas terms means spring is warming up and winter needs to scoot along.
So here we are:
โข Pennsylvaniaโs groundhog says winter isnโt done with us yet.
โข A Central Texas armadillo says spring is basically loading.
Who do you think got it right? The famous groundhog with the top hat and national press coverage, or the local armadillo repping Central Texas with pure Texas confidence?
Let us know us which one of them gets bragging rights.
