The City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department is kicking off the holiday season with a slate of events through December.
Senior Holiday Party benefiting Blue Santa
This annual celebration invites seniors age 60 and older to support the Georgetown Police Departmentβs Blue Santa program from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Georgetown Recreation Center. The party will include games, an ugly sweater contest, lunch, and a festive gift exchange. Attendees are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy or a monetary donation. Advanced registration is available online or in person at the Georgetown Recreation Center.
Sunset Movie Series: Holiday edition
The Sunset Movie Series returns to San Gabriel Park for a special holiday edition featuring βA Christmas in New Hope,β presented in partnership with GTX Film. The free movie screening will take place on Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Legacy Pavilion in San Gabriel Park, 445 E. Morrow St. Pre-show activities and free popcorn will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the movie will start at 6 p.m. The movie is appropriate for all ages.

Winter Wonderland Family Dance
The Winter Wonderland Family Dance, presented by Subaru of Georgetown, will take place from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the Georgetown Community Center. The inaugural dance features a DJ, free face painting, games and activities, a raffle, food for purchase, and a photo booth. Tickets are $5 per person, and advanced registration is available on our website.
Volunteers are needed to help with the concession stand, photo booth, and greeting attendees. Sign up is available on our website.
Hyped for the Holidays Teen Party
Teens ages 12-18 can kick off winter break with a holiday party from 1-4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at the Georgetown Recreation Center. The party includes pizza and snacks, holiday movies and music, group games, door prizes, and more.Β
The party is free with a Georgetown Recreation Center membership or with the purchase of a $6 day pass.
