Copper: A Gentle Giant in Need of a Home
Hello Georgetown readers, let me introduce you to Copper. This sweetheart of a dog is currently staying at the local shelter and, needless to say, he’s a bit scared. It’s hard not to be when you weigh 123 pounds and can’t hear what’s going on around you.Β
That’s right, Copper is deaf, but get thisβhis previous family taught him American Sign Language (ASL). He knows how to “sit,” “wait,” and “come” all through signs! Copper’s adoption fee has already been covered by a generous Adoption Angel. All he needs now is a new family to offer him the love and security he deserves. Interested?

Dog: The Ultimate Cuddle Buddy
If you’re more of a cat person, meet Dog. Yes, you read that correctly. This 14-pound orange tabby is He’s not a dog, but his name is Dog! This three-year-old guy is a real charmer. With a calm demeanor, he gets along great with other felines and is quite the expert when it comes to using the litter box.
Dog’s idea of a perfect day is simply lounging around the house. But be warned: he loves company. The more time you can spend cuddling with him, the happier he’ll be. Car rides, however, are a different story. Dog isn’t a fan, so it’s best to leave him at home when you run errands.
Looking for a pet who enjoys the simple things in life? Dog could very well be your next best friend. He’s ready and waiting to meet potential new families every day from noon to 6 pm at the shelter.
