A Georgetown couple who have dedicated decades of service to the community were recognized and honored by Williamson County on Tuesday, May 18.
The Commissioners Court recognized Leo and Vivian Wood for their service to Georgetown and Williamson County with a resolution making May 18, 2021, βMr. and Mrs. Williamson County Dayβ
βLeo was Georgetown city manager in 1969 and was elected mayor of Georgetown in 1992 through 1999,β the county wrote. βVivian was elected Williamson County treasurer in 1994 and was re-elected five times, serving for a total of 22 years. Williamson County is grateful for the tireless efforts and dedication of Leo and Vivian Wood. This dedication is particularly meaningful as Vivian passed away recently.β
Leo Wood and his family attended the meeting to accept and celebrate the dedication, the county said.
