GEORGETOWN, TEXAS – Georgetown ISD’s East View High School is among the 29 schools across the nation to become the first in their state or territory to perform the high school edition of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child outside of Broadway.
Broadway Licensing Global’s “Wands at the Ready” contest invited secondary schools from all over the U.S. to make the case for why their school is the most “magical” place to perform the award-winning play.
“Being selected as the school to represent Texas for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the highest of honors, proving that the hard work, creativity, and passion of East View’s Theater students is recognized by the larger theater community,” said East View Theater Director Jon DeMitchell. “We are over the moon to tell this important story of a young man finding his place in the world and his family, and I can’t think of a better group of students to share this experience with.”
East View Theater is set to perform the play in the fall of 2024.
