The first baking contest for the Wilco Fair & Rodeo has named the winners!
“We are excited to announce the winners of the first ever Williamson County Fair & Rodeo Baking Contest,” the Williamson County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension said. “Congratulations to all! Held on October 20, we had winners in Adult and Youth levels.”
Two of the winners included people from Georgetown.
“We had a great response with 75 youth and adult entries from all over the county,” Kate Whitney, County Extension Agent for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Williamson County, told Hello Georgetown. “We were pleasantly surprised at the level of excitement from all the participants. We heard neat stories about family recipes that were used, and we enjoyed seeing so many families gathering to bake their entries together.”

“Williamson County AgriLife Extension was excited to host the first baking contest with the Williamson County Fair and Rodeo,” Whitney said. “We offer many programs throughout the year to promote family health and wellness and youth development…We look forward to next year’s contest, and we encourage more families to participate. A little friendly competition between family members for bragging rights is good wholesome fun!”
