We’re excited to welcome Playa Bowls to Georgetown! The new spot opens this Sunday, June 29 at Wolf Ranch and it’s already creating buzz!
Owner Nikita Mehta told us she was drawn to Georgetown because of its warmth and small-town feel. “It reminded me of my hometown in Connecticut,” she said. “People here smile, they say hello, it just felt like the right place.”
After 15 years of background as a NICU nurse and experience working with a nonprofit that supports low-income moms, Nikita says she was ready for a new chapter.
“This is just another way for me to give back. It’s still about caring for people, just in a different way.”
What is Playa Bowls?
Founded in 2014 by two surfers looking for healthy options at the beach, Playa Bowls started as a fruit stand in New Jersey and now has over 300 locations nationwide. This new location brings that same passion for clean, high-quality, delicious food to Georgetown.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Açaí, pitaya, and coconut bowls made to order
- Fresh juices and smoothies (no water or sugar added)
- Cold brew coffee
- Toppings like fruit, coconut, granola, Nutella, and more
- Vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free options
Menu items range from $4.99 to $12. Everything is made fresh, using ingredients sourced from Brazil, Thailand, and India—no syrups, no shortcuts. Playa Bowls focuses on real ingredients and a made-to-order experience. The offerings are both healthy and indulgent, bringing a fun, beach-inspired vibe along with quality you can feel good about.
Nikita, her husband, and their two daughters are proud Williamson County locals—and they love Georgetown. Nikita shared that they’re excited to deepen their roots by getting involved with local nonprofits, and community events.
