GEORGETOWN, TEXAS – City of Georgetown offices and facilities will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27–28, for the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be no solid waste or recycling collection on Thanksgiving Day (see details below).
City Offices Closed Nov. 27–28
The following facilities will be closed both Thursday and Friday for the holiday:

Transit Services

GoGeo paratransit bus services will not operate Thursday–Friday, Nov. 27–28.

Residents and visitors may access discounted rides through Uber or wheelchair-accessible vehicles anytime via rideGTX.
Recycling and Solid Waste
There will be no trash or recycling pickup on Thanksgiving Day for Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) customers in Georgetown.
Pickup schedules for Thursday and Friday will slide one day forward:

Carts should be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day.

Enjoy a free Thanksgiving meal offered on a first-come, first-served basis, supported by the Georgetown Fire and Police departments.
🎄 Lighting of the Square
Friday, Nov. 28 | 5:30–6:30 p.m. | Williamson County Courthouse, 710 S. Main St.
Join Mayor Pro Tem Kevin Pitts and County Judge Steven Snell as they light up the Square. More information about road closures coming soon.
🛍️ Shop Small Saturday
Saturday, Nov. 29 | 10 a.m. start | Downtown Georgetown
Support local businesses and enjoy holiday shopping and dining specials at locally owned stores and restaurants.
☕ Coffee & Cocoa Crawl
Saturday, Nov. 29 | 10 a.m.–2 p.m. | Downtown Georgetown
Hosted by the Georgetown Main Street Program. Sample coffee and cocoa at 10 downtown locations with a $25 ticket, which includes a keepsake mug, cookie, and samples. Only 500 tickets available.
