Georgetown ISD has announced the cancellation of all classes and the closure of district facilities on Monday, January 26, 2026, following consultation with local authorities.
According to the district, freezing temperatures and icy road conditions are expected overnight Sunday and into Monday morning, creating unsafe travel conditions for students, staff, and families. All extracurricular activities scheduled for Monday have also been cancelled. Coaches and teachers will share additional details at a later time regarding rescheduled activities.
The Board of Trustees meeting originally scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Monday has been rescheduled for February 2.
Georgetown ISD stated that classes are expected to resume on Tuesday, January 27. If any adjustments to Tuesday’s schedule become necessary, the district will communicate updates on Monday afternoon.
