The City of Georgetown is once again inviting residents to step behind the scenes of local government through its Civic Leadership Academy. The five-month program is designed for community members who want a deeper understanding of how the City operates, the challenges Georgetown faces, and how residents can play a meaningful role in shaping its future.

The City of Georgetownโs Civic Leadership Academy, which was established in 2021, seeks to educate, connect, and inspire leaders to develop a strong commitment to community service for the greater good of Georgetown.
The academy provides a learning experience for existing and emerging leaders to understand City services and functions, while building the skills and knowledge to succeed in City leadership roles. Participants of the program are given the opportunity to develop an understanding of the promises and challenges facing our community, as well as their role as future City leaders.
The five-month program meets from 8:30 a.m. to noon twice a month,ย every other Thursday morning beginning Jan. 15.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all slots are filled; all applicants will be notified by the end of December.
To be eligible, participants should be a resident of the City of Georgetown and be able to attend seven out of 10 sessions.
